Baseball icon Pete Rose passes away at the age of 83

Hit king of baseball Pete Rose was selected as an All-Star in Major League Baseball 17 times.

The medical examiner in Clark County, Nevada, reported that Pete Rose, a Major League Baseball icon, passed away at 83.

Although there is limited information on how Pete Rose died, Rose was discovered by a family member.

Rose was not being treated by a physician when he passed away, and the investigation is ongoing.

The coroner will investigate to establish the cause and manner of death.

Rose’s tireless approach to baseball in America earned him many supporters due to his hard work and dedication on the field. After his 24-year career, during which 19 years were spent with the Cincinnati Reds, he set the record for the highest number of career hits, games played, plate appearances, and at-bats. He was a 16-time All-Star, won the NL MVP in 1973, and was named Rookie of the Year in 1963.

He achieved victory in three World Series, two with Cincinnati’s “Big Red Machine” teams in 1975 and 1976, and another with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980.

However, Rose will forever be known for also being permanently barred from MLB in 1989 for betting on games during his time as manager of the Reds.
